If It Is 8:00 am in Pacific Time Zone, it would be 10am in Central Time Zone. Central Time Zone is two hours ahead of Pacific Time Zone so is fairly simple to work out and calculate.
A good website to use to help you work out different times in different time zones is ‘greenwichmeantime.com’. This is an extremely simple website to use. You select the time zone that you already know the time in, type in the time and then select the time zone that you wish to know the time in. The website will then calculate the answer. It can often be tricky to work out time differences and this website makes it extremely simple.
We have different time zone because the sun is in a different position in the sky at a certain time for every different zone. The earth rotates at the rate of 15 degrees every hour and by having different time zones, the world is entitled to a slice of the sun at the perfect time of the day. Noon is fixed in every time zone as the time of day when the sun is the highest in the sky. This makes it easy to set times as it is a set point that is easy to judge and is the same reference point for every time zone.  The person who famously proposed this was Sir Sanford Fleming, a Scottish-born Canadian, in the late 19th century. It was a well-received system but was not instituted worldwide until 1929 when it became one of the most crucial developments of the modern world.
Greenwich Meantime, or GMT, is the reference point for all time zones and every time zone to ensure that the whole world has an accurate and co-ordinated universal time.
