From eastern Pennsylvania boundary, (ie., the city of Philadelphia) is only about 50 miles (about 81 km) from the Atlantic Ocean (for example, Atlantic City, NJ).  Naturally, it would depend on from where in Pennsylvania one is traveling--the state is  170 miles (274 km) north to south and 283 miles (455 km) east to  west.  Also, if the scenes were actually filmed in PA, it's possible the shore you are seeing could be that of Lake Erie, as the state has 51 miles (82 km)of coastline along the lake, and 57 miles (92 km) of shoreline along the Delaware Estuary.  Lake Erie comprised about 750 miles of inland area in Pennsylvia; the lake is the tenth largest in the world.

The Delaware River provides that beach look that you might be seeing on your show if it is, indeed, filmed in Pa.
(As an additional trivia point, Pennsylvania at its furthest point East is only about 43 miles (or 40 to 45 minutes by car) from the Atlantic Ocean.

Nope it doesn't border the Atlantic but part of that state does border Lake Erie....so there's you're "seaside", yacht club etc.  Getting from PA to the Atlantic shouldn't be very far though seeing as how NJ and Delaware are neighboring states that have Atlantic coast lines.
