Newark NJ Airport is approximately 15 miles (24 km) from midtown Manhattan, New York City. If driving, the journey should take approximately 55 minutes. If taking public transport, the route could take anything from 55 minutes to 1 hour, 30 minutes. The Newark Liberty Airport Express shuttle bus takes about an hour and runs all year round, coming every 15 minutes. Taxis do run from the airport to New York City - fares are set by New York City's Taxi and Limousine Commission and often include a flat rate so cost anything from $50. Passengers can travel by rental cars, but parking in New York is often expensive and hard to find, so it could be better to take the shuttle bus for convenience.
