I need a vacation. I can't remember the last time I had a vacation, anyone have a suggestion as to a good place to go? Have any good experiences? Or lousy ones?

I've always enjoyed places like Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge TN. They have a wealth of attractions including Ripleys Believe It Or Not, Ripleys Aquarium, History Museum, Star Cars Museum, Hollywood Wax Museum, Elvis Museum, Go Karts, and much more! I have also started to really enjoy Disney World and their unlimited attractions (characters are more my wife's thing). Hope you get that vacation!

What do you like to do?

If you are an outdoorsy person, you can still get some leaf peeping in. I just got back from Hawaii and the weather is warm there and there is plenty to do on the water. The whales should be arriving about now if you care to do a whale watching tour. Also Belize has lots of eco tours. You can see rain forests or ride an inner tube through a cave.

Not an outdoors person? Any major city has museums. If you can wait a month they will also all be decked out for Christmas. There is nothing like New York City at Christmastime.

Or you can even do a "staycation" Just stay home and putter. Get to all those little things you never have time for, or just sleep in and catch up reading that book you have been putting off..

Cancun, Mexico.  I swam with dolphins. Zipped lined over the jungle and went snorkeling through caves.  I'd love to go back.

I have an extra recliner in my living room, you're welcome to it. I'll even serve pizza and beer.

Sure Happy, everyone is welcome. I only have three recliners, one for me, Angela and happy. Everyone else must bring their own or sit on the floor.

If you wish to stay in the US, then New Orleans is a great place to visit. History, river boats, French Quarter, trip into the swamp. The bus is inexpensive (as I recall it was $4.00 for a day pass). If you must gamble there is a casino. We spent a week there and must return to see what we missed.
