What people wear depends largely on culture, climate, and wealth. Here are a few examples:
- Egypt – as the country is mostly desert, it gets very hot. Consequently, loose-fitting clothing (made from light materials like linen) is really popular in Egypt. Out of all of the Muslim countries, Egypt is one of the most relaxed where clothing is concerned.
- Ethiopia – For women, traditional Ethiopian clothes are made from long strips of colored cotton cloth. These are sewn together to make a dress, often with sequins attached to the fabric for decoration. Men tend to wear pants with knee-length, loose shirts.
- Sierra Leone – people here tend to wear conventional Western clothing - when they have access to it. Otherwise, it’s traditional pants and tunics for men and long, wrap-style skirts for women.
