Everyone should be treated equal..but that is an Ideal not likely to happen. In reality people don't want to be treated equal. Every little group be it by race, religion or sexual preference wants special treatment for something. There can never be equality until people learn to step off of the "Its all about ME Soapbox" when people can start accepting personal responsibility for their situations and actions or lack thereof and stop blaming the rest of society then we might stand a chance at equality. The race card would have to be burned and never brought into play again.. And I have little faith anyone is going to surrender it anytime soon.

Yes all of us should be treated equal, we all have freedom of speech. Yes it does make sense, but I also believe that we as humans are not treated eqaul.
Like you have stated, it is just the idealized way of looking at our Nation.
As we all know, their our people that our NOT treated equal, even though most people might like to say this statement is False.
This is a great question, that some people here on this site should really Read it and not judge others. Treat oters as you wish to be treated.
People can have differences, without the judgement, and trying to ut others down for what they believe in.

It should be but reality everyone is judged looked at differently in different situations.....and  for the most part our country was set up this way from the beginning by lying ,cheating, manipulators that later became part of the ruling class and how shall we say government officials or able to manipulate the government with their fortunes made illegally.....at least this is the way history shows it for the most part..

Well on paper everyone one is supposed to be treated equally, but in actually everyone is treated different. It really won't ever happen either, unless of course they made a law that you would get arrested for the slightest thing of ignorance, and anti tolerance,I don't see it happening.

Wow,  it is in reality an idealized idea conceived by our founding fathers but what a great  idea!  So many peole have risked their lives to get to America because of the great ideas and principles in our Declaration of Independance and our Bill of Rights.  Of course, our founding fathers thought only white men who owned property should vote.  I have a friend in Dallas who says that would be any married white man.  Ha-ha, not!  I think we are a very compassionate country and there are many people who truly believe in the American dream.  I hope I see true freedom, equality and opportunity in my lifetime.

I agree KKKKatie "snicker" sorry can't help myself... Frankly I would not call anyone that thinks only married white men should be the only voters in this country. But that's just me...

No one will be treated equal ever in any country because we are a species of thought, preconceived ideas, memory, and preconceptions of what we expect in society.  But in America as an example, if the defendant(s) in a criminal trial were totally covered in a tarp (so we can't see race or nationality) and he(they) got 'public' defenders, then maybe, just maybe, we could get some sort of equality there.  But in the job force, welfare programs, housing, education...we've come a long way in a very short time but we can't expect miracles...we still have grandparents that remember and teach (good or bad) before we can move on.  History isn't forgotten overnight.

What about those citizens who are not yet the age of a taxpayer?

Those citizens should be treated as children, with limited rights, as they generally are.

No, those that abuse their rights should have those types of "privileges" revoked. I speak of criminals, of course. We give our criminals way to many privileges and justify it by saying it is inhumane. I am sorry but if you commit crimes, you have given up privileges. Things such as cable television and such. I feel that if our jails became more of a burden, it would prevent people from their criminal activities and reduce the cost.

Yes. All human beings in this country should be treated equally...AS LONG AS THEY ARE LEGALLY HERE! If you are in this country illegally, you are breaking the law. I am a tax paying, law abiding citizen, so why should a criminal have the same rights as me? So, no, not everyone should have the same rights.

In my opinion, all people are equal whether they are rich or poor, tall or short, fat or thin, white or black, etc. So, they should be treated equally.

I think people should be treated fairly of course, however I don't think all people deserve it. I am so sick of certain "kinds" of people demanding special treatment. We will never be equal until this behavior stops.
