(9.5 in)*(3 mile/(2 in)) = 9.5*3/2 mile = 14.25 miles
Note that keeping the units with the numbers helps us see that the math works out correctly. Inches in the numerator cancel inches in the denominator, with the result that the expression has units of miles, as we want.
