Select the guitar, preferably the one with less value when you are doing it for the first time. Then choose a spacious room that can resemble a workshop or work outdoors which would be more suitable. Strip the guitar and remove the tuning pegs and strings. Then keep them in labelled boxes and get a set of screwdrivers. After you have a plain guitar body, scrub the surface with sandpaper to remove unevenness and the previous paint. Rub some white spirit over wood and allow it to dry. Spray paint gives the guitar an even finish. It can be done by depressing the spray button and hold it a little away from the guitar and move it steadily over the instrument. Apply two coats of the selected colour.
Once the paint dries reassemble the electrical components and the strings as well as the screws. Use professional help while replacing electrical components.
