The duty allowance when traveling from Spain to the UK (or any other EU country I believe) will depend on what kind of item you are talking about.

These are the limits that Spanish customs service posts on their site:

  • Cigarettes 3200

  • Cigarillos 400
  • Cigars 200
  • Smoking Tobacco 3kg
  • Beer
    110 litres
  • Spirits 10 litres
  • Wine 90 litres
  • Fortified Wine (port or sherry) 20 litres

  • Perfume
    60cc/ml

  • Eau de Toilette 250cc/ml

Value of goods, gifts and souvenirs €300 if entering EU country by land or sea and €430 for air passengers.

If you exceed any of these limits, you are required to declare it. And then it will be up to customs whether you are allowed to continue with the good, based on what they think you plan to do with them.
