If you're visiting Canada, I'd recommend Toronto, because it is located 130km from Niagara Falls, just across Lake Ontario. 

The city also offers sites like the Royal Ontario Museum,the CN Tower, with its breathtaking 1,465ft high observation deck that allows amazing panoramas of the surrounding areas. From up there you can even see all the launching points from which to take a boat trip on the Great Lake.
