First, I would Visit the great Yukon territory of Alaska by mush team to witness the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) Then i would drive the whole 2.400 or so mile route 66. Then off to the frozen continent at the end of the world, Antarctica, then to the coast of California to whale watch, then to Africa for a two week safari, then a trek through the Himalayas, then off to dive the great barrier reef and end it by walking the great wall of China.....For starters..... (:
I'd like to tour the historical and sacred sites of the UK and Europe, extending that south to Israel and Egypt. I'd love to experience at first hand those places where history was made. I have less interest in the other continents but it would be wonderful to see those places where the great events that shaped Western culture occurred.
But you wouldn't get me near a tour bus.
A journey like that is one to be savoured. Slowly. There would be people to meet, languages to grapple with, customs to understand, emotions to feel, mysteries to absorb and understand.
It will never happen, of course. I'm past that now. But that would have been my ideal journey.
