I don't think we even know anymore! ....the agricultural thing is correct......I think people here just expect it, it's kinda fun to see who the one person is that's an hour early and an hour late to work every time the clocks change! Personally, I wish they'd stop doing it.
I think It was a It's a good example of Magic Thinking. If we set the clock an hour ahead, we believe it will stay light one more hour in the evening. A sensible society would just agree to start and end the work day an hour earlier and leave the clocks alone.
