Most business organizations use mileage sheets that allow them to record journeys that have been undertaken for the purpose of the business. Different organisations have similar formats but the procedure to log them or register them may be different. You will have to get in touch with the administration or operations department of your organisation to get a blank mileage sheet.
If the organisation is new or your own, it's not very hard to make your own. The information it will contain includes a column for the date, for the location, the purpose or meeting or activity, the mileage covered or expense paid, and the total cost. At the end are blanks for signature, date and approval of the final authorizing or approving party.
Please note that currently the IRS provides for or allows Reimbursement at the rate of 48.5 cents per mile.
