Yes.. Even though you are mexican and are wanting to go to mexico, you still need a mexican passport even if you are mexican.. If you don't have a mexican passport you wont be able to go to mexico.. Not even with the mexican consulate card you wont be able to go to mexico

If you are not in Mexico right now and you want to go back to your country, the immigrations officers might ask for the passport. This is to make sure that you are a Mexican citizen.

A valid U.S. Passport if you are a U.S. Citizen and $21.00 Dollars for a tourist permit valid for 180 days.    If you are a mexican national nothing is required.

If you are a Mexican National then no, but you would need it if you were not in Mexico. So either way you need a passport.

Well .... I have to say yes because even though you ARE Mexican you are still needed a passport to go to  Mexico .You need a Sticker saying Law of Mexico/(or)Texas on your car , so that they will know that you are recognized as a citizen there .

Yes, basically you do need a passport when you enter your country from outside. This is a proof that you really are a Mexican National.
