The distance between Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and central Princeton, also in New Jersey, is approximately 35 miles. Newark's dedicated airport is the closest to Princeton and runs domestic and international flights around the world every day of the year. The airport is a hive of activity and has three major terminals: A, B and C. In 2010, the airport carried over 33 million passengers to their destinations of choice all over the world - making a grand total of 400,000 plus plane movements to and from the Newark Liberty International site.

The next closest airport to Princeton is the Philadelphia International Airport, which is a further 10 miles away at a total distance of 45 miles from the central business district (CBD) of Princeton. Also within 100 miles of Princeton are the following international air transport bases (please note that all measurements are straight-line figures, not driving distances): Lehigh Valley International Airport in Allentown, Philadelphia (46 miles); John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York (51 miles); and LuGuardia International Airport in New York (51 miles).

For more local airports which offer only regional flights in and around New Jersey and nearby states, there is Princeton Airport in the city itself and the Trenton Mercer Airport just 10 miles away in Trenton, New Jersey. Also in close proximity to Princeton are the McGuire Air Force Base and the North East Philadelphia Airport, which are 23 and 26 miles away from the city center respectively.
