I'm not sure of the distance but it's easy to travel as there is direct train service between Amsterdam and Berlin (meaning that you don't have to change trains).You get onto the train at that Main station in Amsterdam not the airport station. You'll cross the border into Germany around Osnabruck (nice town in itself Connie Overbeck runs a great club called Hyde park there) You just stay on the train until you get to Baunhoff Zoo in Berlin!
