Local time in the UK is WE(S)T -- Western European (Summer) Time -- i.e. GMT, or GMT+1 in summer. CE(S)T is one hour ahead of WE(S)T; so 14.00 CET (Central European Time) is 13.00 WET (Western European Time) in winter; 14.00 CEST (Central European Summer Time) is 13.00 WEST (Western European Summer Time) in summer. In the UK, WET is usually called GMT, and WEST is usually called BST (British Summer Time).
