Planet Nibiru has no scientific basis and is mostly regarded in the realm of pseudoscience and conspiracy theorists. It was originally proposed by Zecharia Sitchin, it is thought to be a distant planet beyond the orbit of Neptune and Zecharia believed that extra terrestrials had had visited planet Earth from Nibiru from the past, to support this idea he used various ambiguous allegories and self-concocted etymologies from the Sumerian Epic Enuma Elish. It is said to be responsible for mass extinctions in the past and an expected mass extinction in the near future. However, it has been debunked and the ideas is not taken seriously by serious Astronomers of repute.
