3,000 miles is way off. He must have been thinking of Portland, Maine. Portland, Or to Anaheim, Ca is around 989 miles (one way) and takes between 15-17 hours if you go straight down I-5. We usually stop in Sacramento and make it a 2-day trip, but two drivers can easily trade off. And I am assuming there are at least two drivers because a flight down to LAX (for one person) is cheaper than driving.
