That all depends on where you are cruising. If you want to cruise in the Caribbean, I would suggest April. Spring Break is over so no rowdy college kids. And summer vacations haven't started so there is not a lot of over tired kids crying, or running all over the place. It is also not too hot like summers can be. It is also before hurricane season. Winter months can be less expensive but the seas tend to be rougher.

We've always gone in the fall and winter. Earliest was a short cruise to the Bahamas. Latest was March from the Left coast thru the Panama Canal. Did one just before Christmas, and that seemed to be the least crowded. Lots of vacant tables at dinner. Weather for all of them was fine.

I've only gone on cruises in the summer; can't imagine that's the best time though. They've always been quite crowded.

Exploring the new places or enjoying the vacations on cruises is the best option, at least for me. Personally, I think April is the best time for cruise but no matter when you want to go - you will find something worthy. Check out these sites https://travelsites.com/best-cruise-sites/
