The disgusting slums surrounding Jaipur, India. I'll never set foot in India again.

I have to agree with Jeremy about St. Louis, and the surrounding area. I used to live outside Kansas City. When we moved back to Florida we couldn't get everything on the moving truck. So I rented a small storage unit and put in what was left. My niece and I flew back a few weeks later and rented a small rental truck to bring the rest of it home. After flying in, getting some BBQ, and loading the truck we got as far as the St. Louis area before stopping for the night. I used an app to find a hotel that had good ratings and a decent price. We drove up, the hotel was well lit and looked clean, but the neighborhood surrounding it looked sketchy. I decided to cancel that reservation and went to the south side of the city. It was a much better neighborhood, and the ratings and price were the same. We went to the arch the next morning and I have had no desire to go back.

Less than two weeks after that trip, the riots broke out in Ferguson. MO. The hotel I opted not to stay at was just the other side of I-270 from Ferguson in Florissant, MO.

The jungles of Vietnam. Why, is obvious.

Fallujah. 'nuff said.

For what it's worth, I quite enjoyed the jungles of Vietnam- although I was there after the shooting stopped. Beautiful place, however.

As for a "touristy" type of "I'll never go back", I'd have to say Budapest. I had always wanted to go there, and finally did in 2006. Everything was ridiculously expensive, most of the vendors tried to rip me off, and a young punk tried to snatch my wife's purse. I was very disappointed in the place. Buda and Pest are both crime ridden!

The only saving grace was the architecture- amazing!

Excellent answer! Thank you. And thank you for your service too.
I've seen travel shows about Budapest. It looks interesting, but whenever there's a caveat regarding crime, I back away slowly.

To the time my father passed away actually I wish I could go back and change things and save him so he wouldn’t die.
