Political instability causes food shortage. People are always at war fighting. This leaves them with little or no time to practice farming. More importantly, a lot of energy and resources are devoted to war to such an extent that people would be too exhausted to engage in profitable farming. Furthermore, war destroys people's crops and animal, even settlements.

There are so many causes of food shortage in africa, however, the main one is the global warming that as made the african climate to completely change in a way that, most parts of africa no longer receive enough rainfall to grow their crops.

The poor technology that most african countries have, also contribute to the food shortage eg. Poor Agri mechanisms, poor processing plants.

However, other factors like, unfair trade, corruption, diseases, wars/conflicts, natural disasters, etc also contribute to food shortage in africa.

This is a question which many people do not know the answer. The main reason seems to be that a lot of food simply will not grow because the land is so poor and the weather is not right to grow things properly.

Finances are another big issue and there are several big charities trying to get people to be able to grow their own food and raise their own food. For example, some charities allow people from all over the world to help out people in Africa by buying them a goat or a cow. This helps to give them milk as well as meat and it allows them to live life how they should be able to.

So it is a combination of reasons why people in Africa have a food shortage but people all around the world are trying to help them.

Lack of technological prowess. This happens especially in developing countries where invention capability is squeezed by socio economic forces.
