16 countries: Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. And 3 continents: Africa, Asia, and Europe.
Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel-Palestine, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
All these countries, according to the United Nations, are in Western Asia, except for Egypt which has most of its territory in Africa (the Sinai Peninsula is considered to be geographically Asia). Additionally, a very small part of Turkey (named Western Thrace, which includes the city of Istanbul/Constantinople) is in Europe. As Cyprus, Israel and Turkey are the only non-Arabic Middle Eastern countries (except for Iran which is closer to South Asia), they sometimes have political links with nearby Europe, however they are still geographically Asian.
