If I Walk 5/8 Mile Laps How Many Do I Walk To Make 1 Mile?

One lap plus 3/8 of a lap, which is over 1 and 1/4 laps but not quite 1 1/2 laps (the distance lies between the two). Why not go the extra 1/4 to make it an even 1 1/2?
