Unfortunately, there is no service on Amtrak to Tallahassee at this time. Tallahassee was previously a stop for Amtrak's Sunset Limited, operating from Los Angeles to Orlando. Following Hurricane Katrina, the eastbound Sunset Limited terminates in New Orleans, leaving all stations from Mississippi to Lake City, FL without service due to damaged rail lines.
Prior to the hurricane, Sunset Limited passengers arriving in Orlando could have connected to Tampa via the Silver Star train, or by Thruway motorcoach. Thruway service is available from Tampa's Union Station to St. Petersburg. These services and others throughout south, central, and east Florida were not affected by Katrina.
