Technology bloggers in China have taken to the streets outside technology giant Siemen's headquarters to smash the doors in of a certain brand of refrigerators made by the company.
The bloggers claim that the doors on this certain brand of fridge won't close properly, meaning their perishable goods become unsavory much more quickly than they would perhaps like.
Siemen's chief executive has said that any complaints they get on the fridges "aren't about technical complaints with the doors". They also added that, while this was the case, it "takes all customer expectations seriously".
Fair enough, other appliances go wrong from time to time; toasters not springing up, kettles not quite boiling after years of full-on use. But fridge doors not closing properly from the off? Surely that's a staggering design fault. But would it warrant you taking to your chest freezer with a massive lump of steel on a stick (a sledgehammer)? Let us know with an answer below!
The video below shows some of the crazed fridge haranguing in action, including a cracking blow to a plastic fruit and veg. Shelf. Enjoy!
