English is the de facto national language of the people living in the US. Spanish is spoken in various regions across the US as a second language. You will find people speaking bilingual language, ie English and Spanish in the South western part of the US sharing the border of Mexico. Bilingual languages are also spoken in the regions of New Jersey, Florida, District of Columbia and New York.

Mostly the Hispanic population is comfortable with both the Spanish and English language. Over 30 million Americans (12 percent of the population) speak Spanish and are good with English too. Chinese is the third popular language especially in parts of California and places in the US where Chinese immigrants have made their home.
