If you have Indefinite Leave to Remain in UK (ie you are a permanent resident) and the settlement visa that you have is a family visa (ie Husband, Wife, Partner, etc) and if you are travelling with or meeting that family member in Spain then you DO NOT need a visa for stays up to 90 days.
Check out Timatec, its all there.
If you have an indian passport you will need a visa for most eu countries. My husband has an indian passport and went to holland, It only cost him £12.00 and they gave it to him on the same day, No hassle compared to the spain visa etc. We also went to cyprus. We didnt need a visa. I got the cyprus embassy to email me, to ensure I don't need a visa so I had it in writing.
There are other countries you can go without a visa, if you have an indian passport. Like hong kong, maldives, Mauritius etc.
Hope this helps

and living in UK with my British husband. I am allowed to go to Paris and Germany without a visa as long as I am traveling with my husband who is obviously an EU national. Try to check
the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany site.

All the permanent citizens of any country in Europe do not need a visa to go to another country in Europe, for a stay up to 90 days. This is the standard rule after the formation of European Union. You just need to have proper travel documents like a valid passport. Since you are a permanent resident, you must be having a valid British passport. So you don't need a visa.
this is complete nonsense. Technically a spouse or significant partner of a Uk citizens passport holder requires a residency card to enter any EU country whilst travelling with a EU passport holder. The problem is the Uk do not have residency cards and so visas are required for the spouses of Uk passport holders who do not have a EU passport. These visas be it Schengen or other (Ireland and a few other countries are not part of Schengen) must be supplied free of charge and with a minimal amount of bureaucracy. Proof of being a spouse is essential and if the marriage took place abroad - a properly translated copy must be provided notarised and stamped by a relevant consulate. If the partner is same sex or is not married difficulties can ensue although again technically this is not allowed.
be warned some embassies can be fussy - notably the Italians who want everything perfect. It does not matter if the british embassy accepts your documents unless they have been stamped by the correct departments the Italians will refuse them. At present the Eu is seeking to harmonise all such documents but as yet this has not happened,
Ireland and a few other EU countries are not in Schengen and so r
I am taking my Egyptian husband to Belgium and paris for a 4 day cruise. My husband has an Egyptian passport with indefinite leave to remain in the UK. I am a UK citizen. I called the Belgium embassy and they told me if my husband has spouse EU member printed next the indefinite leave to remain he does not need a vis to go to Belgium and paris. If not stated and only states indefinite leave to remain he requires a visa. Is this true? Can my husband go to the home office to have this added Spouse of e.u next to his visa stamp. Would be so much easier as we don't have time left to get a Shengen visa
I have a Zimbabwean passport. I have indefinite leave to remain settled in the UK. Do I need a visa to visit other EU countries?
