Buses leave the city of San Pedro Sula, every day at 6:00 am, 10:30 am, 3:20 pm, 6:20 pm. If you leaving for La Ceiba from the airport, the buses leave at 2:15 pm and 5:00 pm every day. A one-way journey will cost you around $23.
You can take these local "directo" buses from many a location. One-way from San Pedro Sula to La Ceiba will cost you roughly $5. They have a rest stop halfway through the journey. Because they stop along the way to pick people up, it can add up to an hour onto the journey. However, it is the cheapest way to travel.
You could get a taxi straight from the airport at San Pedro Sula. This is a very useful way of getting to La Ceiba. There are always taxis waiting outside of airports, therefore it is the most accessible, and close-to-hand mode of transport. The distance to travel between San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba is around 136km. If you're pushed for time, you'd be best taking a taxi, as you will get to La Ceiba sooner.
