How Do I Renew My British Passport In South Africa?

I have tried at least 5 times to contact  the British Consulate to renew my British Passport.
Each time machines answer and lead you to phone a you K number.asking for your visa number to pay.
I am 76 years old and a widower,living on my savings.
I cannot afford expensive  calls to the you K.
Could you PLEASE  inform me - urgently - of what forms I need to take , along with my passport
which expires in November.I want to renew it  NOW and can't wait  any longer.

My british passport only expires on 28/10/2013 but I have run out of pages.What documents do I need to renew this passport
