I am A british citizen my wife has residency for 2 years, I like her to travel with me to visit Germany.do I need a visa for her?

I have a leave to remain visa and I have been living in the uk with my husband for 3 years now ,my husband was born in england and my son as well, my visa finishes on 11 may 2010 , I am currently studying esol entry 2 in english speaking and listening , I would be grateful if you could give me some information on permanent citizenship in the u.k. Actually if you are a spouse of a UK citizen, you must apply for a citizenship in UK. This will offer you a wide variety of benefits and you would be able to work and go anywhere you please.
