It is approximately 3.5 miles and takes around 10 minutes to travel from Manchester Piccadilly Station to Old Trafford.

Manchester Piccadilly is the largest city centre railway station in Central Manchester as well as being one of the busiest in the north of England. Travelling on this service is probably the quickest method to get to Old Trafford, however if you are travelling by car then you should take the main roadway that accesses every city in the Manchester County,  the M60.

There are three different exit junctions that will take you directly to Old Trafford. You should take Junction 7 if you are travelling north bound on the M60, and then take the A56 towards Manchester. You should then keep an eye out for the stadium signs and turn left at Sir Matt Busby Way,  the stadium should be on your right.

However, if you are travelling south bound then you should take Junction 9 and join the A5081 (Parkway) heading towards Trafford Park. Take the third exit when you reach the first island and that should take you to Village Way and then take the second exit after the traffic lights onto Wharfside Way. Then turn right at Sir Matt Busby Way.

Another route for travellers coming from the south on the M60 is to exit at Junction 12 to head onto the M602 (Salford/Manchester) and follow the signs for Salford Quays and Trafford Park. Turn right at the roundabout onto Trafford Road and cross the Manchester Ship Canal remaining in the right hand lane. After that, turn right at the traffic lights onto Trafford Wharf Road and the turn left at the next traffic lights heading onto Waters Reach. Continue to go straight ahead through the next set of traffic lights and you'll be on Sit Matt Busby Way.
