Baja is very big - about 200 miles up and down, but It is about 20 miles between downtown TJ and downtown SD. That can take between 20 minutes and 2 hours by car and it is affected by many factors on both sides of the border, like how many people are crossing on your travel day. Weekends are generally the worst.
