Hello kellytul,
the distance is more like 473 km or 293.9 miles and if you are driving it it will take you the better part of 5 hours if you are familiar with the roads and exits there so I would say take a day to get from A to B and 100 miles per hour will for sure get you a speeding ticket it is more 80 to 85 mileson the highway there this route takes you over Granada but if you opt for the
daytrip I would suggest to take the coastal road and enjoy along the way some spectacular views over the med the pass is then a bit easier but stay along the coast and you get from alicante to malaga in a more relaxed fashion.
Good luck,
Dutchman
