I'm a Nepali citizen. I want to go to Indonesia for a visit. What kinds of documents do I need to apply for a visa to Indonesia? Is it possible to apply visa from Thailand because we don't have an Indonesian embassy in Nepal?

I have traveled to over 20 countries with a Nepalese passport. It is possible to get a visa upon arrival in Egypt, but it's not recommended, as it will waste your time at the airport.

I have traveled to Egypt without a visa a couple of times, but it's not common for Nepalese citizens to get visa on arrival in Cairo Intl. Airport - at least that's what I was told.
The first time, I was asked to wait for about 1 and half hours, while my passport went flying across different rooms in border control.  Although I was granted the entry visa (Visa Fee: 15USD), I don't recommend going to Egypt with a visa. You can in fact easily get the visa at the local consulate.

It is NOT possible for Nepalese passport holders to apply for visa at the entry point (only 21 countries are eligible to apply). www.vfs-thailand.co.in In case of doubt, please confirm from the local consulates in country of your residence.
