You will need a visa to make a trip like this. Many people think that England does not require a visa for two reasons. The first reason is that England is, under the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, part of the European Union. The European Union allows citizens from the continent to travel freely between countries without requiring a visa. This does not mean, however, that people from all over the world can just ‘enter’ Britain with no visa or passport.

The other reason is that Great Britain has a notoriously lax attitude in regards to immigration, ever since the New Labour administration and Tony Blair. Immigration laws are supposedly being tightened under the new Conservative government, though whilst it is in the European Union the laws on immigration will not change dramatically.

A visa is a document that is either purchased before a flight, or in the airport upon arrival. This kind of document proves that a person is indeed who they claim to be, and provides information about the legal requirements they must respect in terms of their stay in the United Kingdom. A visa will allow a person to stay in the country for either a number of weeks, months, or years. Typically there are six-month visas for the United Kingdom, but there is increasing speculation to these visas actually working - as many people coming from places like Trinidad are actually taking advantage of the system and staying in the UK illegally. Indeed, this happens with people from all over the world - not just Trinidad.

Hence, in order to abide by the laws governing the United Kingdom, you must ensure that you get the visa you require before travelling. You must also ensure that whilst you are in the United Kingdom, you make sure you do not stay any longer than you are allowed.

No. As long as it's for a vacation only.
